After many weeks the jeweller shows you what he has made from the carnelian, feldspar, amethysts and electrum.
This is a piece of jewellery called a girdle. The ancient Egyptians wore jewellery like this around their waists. This girdle belonged to an ancient Egyptian woman who lived during the 12th dynasty (1900 B.C.-1800 B.C.).
On some girdles, the cowrie shell amulets were hollow with a piece of metal inside. When the person wearing the girdle moved around, these amulets would rattle.
