The Gods and Goddesses chapter is an introduction to the principal ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses.

The Home Page explains the importance of the gods and goddesses in ancient Egypt. Links off the Home Page feature information about how people worshipped the gods and goddesses and why certain deities are associated with animals.

The story presents a creation myth from ancient Egypt. This animated sequence introduces the gods and goddesses associated with the Earth, the sky and the air, among others. This section could be used to discuss ideas about creation myths, including their function and relationship to natural phenomena.

The explore section is set up as a resource for accessing information about the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt. The name, appearance, and general characteristics of about thirty gods and goddesses are presented on ‘cards'. These ‘cards' can be accessed by alphabetical list, by category or by appearance. This section could be used as a reference for pupils doing research, and as a way of presenting the major deities worshipped in ancient Egypt.

'Lost and found' is an activity set in a virtual museum environment based on memory and observation. A young girl falls asleep in the museum and is locked in. She must ‘wake up' several statues of ancient Egyptian deities and find something for each of them before they will tell her how to get out of the museum.
