Funerary heart pectoral
Around 1200 B.C.

This is an amulet that would have been placed within the wrappings of a mummy. It was supposed to protect the heart of the person who died.

This amulet shows the goddesses Isis (on the left) and Nephthys (on the right). The two goddesses would protect the body on its journey to the afterlife.
